YOUR CINEMA TOOLKIT
Compare cinema venues for your visit
Compare two cinema options using the actual performance, access needs, ticket conditions and travel, with a clear printable decision worksheet.
Compare the visit you could actually make, using the same questions for each option. A cinema’s general reputation or a headline ticket price will not tell you whether its chosen screen, session and journey meet your needs.
Use this worksheet in your own notes or print the page. It produces no automatic ranking and sends no answers to Reeltime.
Choose comparable options
Start with two real sessions, or two venues whose programmes cover your intended date. Record each source and the time you checked it. Where the films, formats or dates differ, make that difference visible instead of treating the offers as identical.
Use the cinema guide index to identify venues, then follow their official programmes. A former cinema or a temporarily closed venue without a confirmed session is not a like-for-like bookable alternative.
Decide your essentials first
Write down the conditions that must be met for the trip to work. These could include a particular captioned performance, a step-free route to the booked screen, adjacent seating or a return journey you can make. Then list preferences such as a convenient time or a particular seat position.
Do not give an unknown essential condition a passing score. Seek an answer. An option that meets a preference but fails a requirement does not become suitable because it is cheaper.
Compare venue and performance
| Field | Option A | Option B |
|---|---|---|
| Cinema, town and address | __________________ | __________________ |
| Official programme or performance link | __________________ | __________________ |
| Film or event and version | __________________ | __________________ |
| Date and advertised start | __________________ | __________________ |
| Screen, format and proposed seat or space | __________________ | __________________ |
| Age rating and content-advice check | __________________ | __________________ |
| Expected finish and any interval | __________________ | __________________ |
| Operator notice checked, with date | __________________ | __________________ |
If a screen is not yet allocated, mark it not yet confirmed. Do the same where a future programme has not been published; do not invent a time to make the comparison look complete.
Compare access and practical arrangements
| Requirement or preference | Option A: answer and source | Option B: answer and source |
|---|---|---|
| Route to entrance and auditorium | __________________ | __________________ |
| Seating or wheelchair position | __________________ | __________________ |
| Facilities needed during the visit | __________________ | __________________ |
| Captioning, description or listening equipment | __________________ | __________________ |
| Companion and assistance arrangements | __________________ | __________________ |
| Any family or special-session conditions | __________________ | __________________ |
| Outward and return travel | __________________ | __________________ |
Use three distinct labels: confirmed, unavailable and not yet confirmed. “No information found” belongs in the third category. The access planner supplies precise questions where a website’s summary is too broad.
Compare the actual quoted costs
Record the quote for your actual party and choices. Include mandatory booking fees, seat or format supplements and the conditions of any concession or companion arrangement. Keep optional refreshments separate so that the comparison answers the question you care about.
| Cost or condition | Option A | Option B |
|---|---|---|
| Ticket total for the whole party | __________________ | __________________ |
| Mandatory fees or supplements | __________________ | __________________ |
| Travel and parking cost to include | __________________ | __________________ |
| Total for the items you chose to compare | __________________ | __________________ |
| Quote source and date/time | __________________ | __________________ |
| Changes, exchanges or cancellation conditions | __________________ | __________________ |
Use the ticket seller’s final breakdown rather than adding a fee twice. A price advertised “from” may describe a different session or seat. If a concession depends on a membership or card, note the relevant condition and any cost you need to include.
Make the decision and keep the evidence
First remove options that cannot meet an essential requirement. Resolve any essential unknowns. Then compare the preferences, actual total and practical trade-offs of the remaining options.
Write down why you chose the session and what still needs rechecking. Keep the relevant operator links and confirmations, then transfer the chosen details to the cinema visit checklist. Recheck the performance and current status before travelling.
This is a reader-led comparison, not an assessment of which cinema is objectively best. Different people can reach different sensible decisions from the same confirmed information.
