THE REELTIME GUIDE

About Reeltime

Meet Reeltime: an independent publication connecting useful cinema visitor guides, practical planning advice and researched building histories.

Cinema is an experience before the lights go down: finding the right venue, choosing a suitable performance and knowing what to expect when you arrive. It is also part of a place's history. Reeltime brings those two interests together.

What you can find here

Our cinema guides focus on a researched selection of venues in England and Wales. They identify official programme links, distinguish current information from historical records and explain the practical questions worth checking with the operator. This is a selective publication, not a complete national directory.

The visiting section helps with age ratings, screening formats, family visits and access planning. Our resources are free to read, print and download without an account.

The history collection looks at individual buildings and their documented stories. A former cinema remains a useful subject even when it no longer shows films. We make that status explicit and keep nearby current venues separate.

An independent publication

Reeltime is the publication name used for the content on this website. Editorial responsibility for these pages sits with the Reeltime publication. An organisational byline identifies the publication; it does not claim a named expert, a staff team, professional accreditation or first-hand inspection.

We do not operate the featured cinemas, sell tickets, handle bookings or speak for venue operators. We have no claimed affiliation with a former cinema chain, ODEON, any other exhibitor, archive or heritage body. Operator names are used to identify the correct source of information.

How the guides are put together

The initial articles were prepared in November 2026 using venue websites, archival records, heritage listings and relevant organisations' published guidance. Each factual guide shows its sources and the date they were consulted. The writing is new; historical page addresses do not imply that the article was published in an earlier year.

Our current publication uses research-assisted drafting and source checking. It does not claim that every building has been visited or that its access arrangements have been independently inspected. Where a source cannot establish a fact, the guide says so or leaves that claim out.

Read the editorial policy for the approach to uncertainty, review dates, images and changes. The Contact page distinguishes cinema enquiries from the publication's current contact arrangements. The website accessibility page explains navigation and resource options.
